“Line Dance” was originated from a rhythmic dance called “Red Hot Salsa” in
the States. It has been popular in the States, England, Canada, Australia and
New Zealand for over 50 years, and most recently, in Hong Kong. It is an
easy to do/non-tactile/fun to learn group dance (i.e. no partner is required),
and is using fast-beat and spirited pop music as background. Moreover, this
dance is most suitable for those who do not have any dancing experience
because one can control the speed of dance by using different beat of music.
As a beginner, one can starts with a slower beat music and progress to fast
beat on an advanced level, which makes it a very good exercise for today’s
office workers.
